Biography
2011年にオオウチソウとヤマシタシゲキの2人はHysteric Picnicとして音楽活動を始めた。
キクチダイスケ(Ba)とオオスミケンセイ(Dr)を加えた4人体制になってからリリースされたEP『Impersonal』(2014年、Self-Release)、Burghに改名後の1stアルバム『テクノナルシスの全て』(2015年、P-Vine)で頭角を表し、2016年のFuji Rock Festival ルーキーステージに出演。
メンバー全員がダウンピッキングとフルストロークを自らに課しながら、制御不能なほど歪んだギターと音の跳ね返りの中でマーク・E・スミスとイアンカーティスを彷彿とさせるようなオオウチのステージングによって2010年代の日本のポストパンク/アートパンクシーンに大きな影響を与えるも、2016年末に忽然と姿を消すようにその活動を終了した。

In 2011, Sou Ouchi and Shigeki Yamashita began their musical activities under the name Hysteric Picnic.br
After becoming a four-piece band with the addition of Daisuke Kikuchi (ba) and Kensei Osumi (dr), they gained attention with the release of their EP “Impersonal (2014, self-released)”, followed by their first album under the new name Burgh, titled “All About Techno-Narcissism (2015, P-Vine)”. They also performed on the Rookie Stage at Fuji Rock Festival in 2016.br
With all members pushing themselves to play using only down-picking and full strokes, and amidst uncontrollably distorted guitars and reverberating sound, Ouchi’s stage presence — reminiscent of Mark E. Smith and Ian Curtis — had a significant impact on Japan’s post-punk/art-punk scene in the 2010s. However, at the end of 2016, the band abruptly disappeared and ceased all activity.
