Biography
Zamboaは東京を拠点に活動する2人組のロックバンド。 澁谷亮と竹山隆大が鹿児島にて前進バンドKlan Aileenを結成し、音楽活動を開始する。
活動初期の約7年間のほとんどをレコーディングとミックスの研究にあてるなど現代のバンドとは思えない経歴を持つ。
60~70’sの海外のロックミュージックからの強い影響下にありながら、日本民謡や琵琶音楽へも接近する灰色のサイケデリックミュージックを展開する。
2024年、バンド名をZamboa（ザンボア）へと改名。これまでに『Astroride』(2012)『Klan Aileen』(2016)、『Milk』(2018)、『未来』(2024)の4枚のアルバムをリリースしている。
結成時から全ての音源の録音とミックスを自分たちで行なっており、2020年に自身のレーベルであるJolt! Recordingsを設立して以降はカセットのダビングやデザイン、梱包・発送にいたるまで自分たちで行うなど、徹底したDIY精神のもと活動している。
澁谷はTaiko Super Kicks、Tawings、kumagusu、帯化などの作品にエンジニアとして参加するなど、レコーディング・ミキシングエンジニアとしても活動している。

Zamboa is a Tokyo-based rock duo.
Ryo Shibuya and Ryudai Takeyama began their musical journey in Kagoshima with their previous band, Klan Aileen.
In an unusual move for a modern band, they spent the majority of their first seven years focused almost entirely on recording and mixing techniques.
Their sound blends heavy influences from 60s–70s Western rock with elements of Japanese folk music and biwa traditions, resulting in a grey-toned form of psychedelic music.
In 2024, the band changed their name to Zamboa. To date, they have released four albums: Astroride (2012), Klan Aileen (2016), Milk (2018), and Mirai (2024).
Since the beginning, they have recorded and mixed all of their material themselves. Following the launch of their own label, Jolt! Recordings, in 2020, they’ve maintained a strict DIY ethic—handling everything from cassette dubbing and design to packaging and shipping on their own.
Shibuya is also active as a recording and mixing engineer, having worked on releases by Taiko Super Kicks, Tawings, kumagusu, Taika, and others.
